What’s in your cart? Shop comedian Chelsea Handler’s skincare faves
The comedian is about to brave a hot air balloon to test the effectiveness of her favorite moisturizer—shop her skincare essentials now.
Chelsea Handler keeps her life equal parts glamorous and hilarious, whether she’s on stage for her upcoming ‘The High and Mighty Tour’ or floating over Albuquerque in a hot air balloon.
But, behind the jokes and the adventure, her cart is full of practical must-haves, from beauty staples to kitchen trends that keep her routine grounded, even if her adventures aren’t. The USA Today Shopping team sat down with Handler to find out what products she actually swears by, and how they fit into her everyday life.
Moisturizing is the key to all of Chelsea Handler’s adventures
This weekend, Chelsea Handler is going up in a hot air balloon at the Albuquerque International Hot Air Balloon Festival as a “skin torture test” with Gold Bond.
“I’ve had a partnership with Gold Bond…one of the longest relationships in my life,” Handler said. “It’s almost a year now since we met.”
This isn’t the first time the two pair up for one of Handler’s adventures. They previously did an event at Palisades Ski Resort in Tahoe to test Gold Bond’s moisturization in extreme cold temperatures.
“I’m always up for an adventure, and that’s another thing I really love about Gold Bond,” Handler said. “They are adventure seekers and want to prove that their products work in extreme conditions.”
This weekend, they’ll be testing Gold Bond’s newest product, the Plumping Collagen Body and Face Lotion.

A look inside Chelsea Handler’s beauty routine
Handler’s makeup bag is refreshingly simple.
“If I could only have two things to just go out in the world, it’s lip balm and mascara, not even concealer.”
But, her choices for skincare have had to change with different phases in her life.
“I’m very cautious about my sun block, especially as I get older,” Handler said. She specifically pointed to EltaMD’s broad spectrum SPF 40 as part of her simple, but effective daily routine.

“You should use your regular stuff under Gold Bond,” Handler said. “I use vitamin C serum every morning and night, then I use [Gold Bond] like a top coat and SPF as a second topcoat.”
She got her Vitamin C serum from her dermatologist, but the USA Today Shopping team loves this editor-approved, best-selling serum from TruSkin.
From traveling between adventures, like winter ski resorts and hot air balloon rides, to hitting tour stops, Handler said one of her favorite products to keep on hand is this RŌZ hair serum.
“I like to go a couple days without washing my hair to keep it kind of healthy and I get a little frizz, so I put this in my hair.”

As for her ultimate beauty and skincare tip? Sleep.
“Sleep is the ingredient to everything,” Handler said.
Chelsea Handler’s favorite trend? The air fryer.
Since 2020, the world has been obsessed and Handler is no different.
“For somebody who is just not a domestic goddess and never will be, I’ve tried,” Handler said. “Whoever invented the air fryer is probably somebody I should go on a date with.”
