It’s a more potent vitamin C with 23 percent L-ascorbic acid, so it’s strong, and you’ll definitely see results. It also contains other MVP ingredients, like niacinamide and licorice root, for a powerful brightening concoction.
Hydrating Drugstore Serums
Everyone needs a hyaluronic acid serum in their skincare arsenal at all times. There are literally no drawbacks to using it, and it’s a very gentle, skin-friendly ingredient. It works by pulling water into the skin, which is why my complexion looks smoother and plumper after using it. My tip? Apply a moisturizer rich in occlusives (think: squalane, butters, and petrolatum) to trap the moisture in for extra softness.

I love a French pharmacy skincare pick because those girls are known for their enviably smooth skin. Formulated with mineral-rich water and hyaluronic acid, this Vichy staple has the loveliest gel-serum texture and feels super elegant on skin.
Anti-Aging Drugstore Serums
The term “anti-aging” is definitely an outdated term. We’re not trying to stop time; we’re just trying to keep skin healthy and resilient as it changes. This category is really about texture and long-term support. Ingredients like retinol help smooth fine lines and encourage cell turnover, peptides support firmness, and sunscreen prevents damage in the first place. While looking for this category at the drugstore, I always recommend a retinol.
