The buzz: Tatcha The Longevity Memory Cream.

What to know: Stephanie Suganami — known to fans as Steph Shep — joins the call looking perfectly fresh-faced.

Her hair pulled back with a simple black headband, the American actor, entrepreneur and former executive assistant (ahem, to Kim Kardashian) is ready to talk all things beauty.

A self-described skin care hobbyist, Suganami was recently named the face of the new The Longevity Memory Cream from the brand Tatcha. It’s a role that means more to her than just representing a new self-care release.

“To be a skin-care junkie, and also to be a Japanese woman and to get to work with this heritage brand, it’s truly very special,” she says. “And deeply validating to that little girl inside of me that just always wanted to be seen as beautiful as an Asian woman.”

Suganami, who notes the “ritual and the routine” of skin care is what she enjoys most, says she also found joy in learning the how-to behind the new “memory-gel cream.”

“I enjoyed learning about the science behind it,” she says of her time spent with scientists in Japan exploring the botanically derived Okinawa Cellescence Complex.

A longtime fan of Tatcha products, Suganami points to the Rice Polish and The Longevity Serum as two of her skin care go-tos.

“It is so hydrating and so soft, and it gives your skin that really … supple look,” she says of the serum. “And then add The Memory Cream on top of that … Those two products together are just like a match made in heaven.”

Admitting she’s also a skin-care gadget junkie — a red-light panel is her desert island must-have — Suganami eschews layers of makeup in her routine, instead focusing on good skin care, a bit of Refy brow pomade and a brown mascara from Tower 28 as her “less-is-more” picks.

“If anything has changed over the years, it’s wanting more to preserve and build the skin health versus anything else,” she says, adding that she enjoys working with a brand that doesn’t talk about aging as a bad thing.

“That really resonated with me because we shouldn’t be made to feel afraid of that,” she says of getting older. “Or demonize aging or wrinkles in any way, shape or form. I think it’s taking care of your body and your well-being and your health …

“It’s not to cover up or to change, but to embrace and maintain.”

The price: $115.

The retailer: Tatcha | Sephora
