Jamie Lee Curtis’ Makeup-Free Selfie Is Inspired by Pamela Anderson
Jamie Lee Curtis is taking a page from Pamela Anderson, opting for a more natural beauty look.
Earlier this month, the Freaky Friday actress shared a makeup-free selfie via Instagram, highlighting her radiant skin and a Hollywood smile. The only visible trace of makeup was a hint of leftover mascara from the previous workday.
Curtis, 66, captioned the photo, “Just out of the shower selfie. Honoring @pamelaanderson @lastshowgirl and her no makeup ownership of self. Sober. Strong. Steady on. Thanks @hollywoodauthentic @npealcashmere for the jumper! Let’s F&@KING GO 66!”
She continued: “Just noticed that it looks like I have mascara on, which is clearly a remnant of my workday yesterday. Clearly, mommy didn’t wash her face very well.”
Anderson, 57, has been candid about her decision to forgo makeup, which gained widespread media attention when she attended Paris Fashion Week in 2023 bare-faced.
“I’m makeup-free at home, so why not for Paris Fashion Week?” she told People that November. Anderson continued: “I didn’t expect anyone to notice, but I’m glad it sparked a positive message.”
The actress acknowledged the possibility of wearing makeup in the future but emphasized her desire to break free from conventional beauty standards.
“I’m not opposed to it, but I don’t want to play the game,” she said, adding, “It felt empowering to look in the mirror and say, ‘I’m OK just like this.’”
Since then, Anderson has consistently opted for minimal glam at events and red carpet appearances.
Curtis has long been a vocal admirer of Anderson’s confidence, which she said inspired her to star alongside the Baywatch actress in their latest movie, The Last Showgirl, released earlier this year on September 6.
At the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, Curtis expressed her admiration for Anderson, calling her “a transcendent creature, so smart, deeply spiritual, soulful and beautiful.”
