I Tried L’Oreal’s Glycolic Gloss Range And Here’s What I Think

As someone obsessed with beauty, products for glossy lips and glossy skin are both non-negotiable, so as soon as I heard of a product that could deliver on glossy hair, I knew I wanted to add it to the roster. Much like my skincare routine, I take pride in my haircare routine and look for products that are specifically designed to care for and improve my hair concerns. I often reach for glycolic acid in my skincare routine when I want to see a glow, improve texture and achieve glass-like skin. So, when the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss range landed on my desk; let’s just say I was very intrigued – why not try this skin-loving ingredient on my hair?

Any hair product that describes itself as ‘salon-level’ gets me excited. If I can recreate a professional-quality treatment at home, it’s safe to say I’m already sold, particularly as I’m never loyal to shampoos and conditioners; I’m always on the hunt for a new routine.

Although this range is made for all hair types, it really helped treat my dull, dry ends. For some context, my hair is quite damaged from heat styling and years of bleach, so my hair absolutely drank up this treatment and helped add some much-needed shine.

How does it work?

To get technical, the gloss complex penetrates the hair fibre and seals cuticles to improve texture and damage and encourage shine. This then makes the hair more light reflective, unlocking shine that develops in every wash. When using the range altogether consistently, the Glycolic Gloss formula seals cuticles and creates a shine glaze for shine that lasts up to 5 washes.

What did I think overall?

I used the range for a couple of weeks, as I try to leave washing my hair for two to three days, and not only noticed a difference in how my hair looked, but I also loved how it felt. I’ve been looking for a treatment that helps repair any damage and dryness and encourages my blonde to look like I’ve just stepped out of the salon.

What I love most of all is that this range doesn’t just claim to transform your hair with just a shampoo and conditioner. You’re equipped with the 5 Minute Lamination treatment and Leave-In Serum to deeply treat and coat the hair, leaving it with a glossy finish – much like a nourishing and transformative salon treatment but without the price tag.
