Frugal skincare fan raves about a $4 cream that beat out a $60 luxury buy in a side-by-side test: ‘Face is happier’
A BUDGET-FRIENDLY shopper has shared her go-to beauty buy that topped a high-end product that is over $50 more.
She compared both of the skincare items in a side-by-side test and the cheaper option won out in the end.
Reddit user Kobayashi_maru_fail likes to take the fiscally-responsible route when it comes to her beauty routine.
So much so, that she shared in a post her “frugal skincare routine” that does a lot for much less.
There is one tried-and-true product that she swears by without fail.
She gushed about the Pond’s Light Moisturizer Cream, $3.75 on Amazon, for more than its price.
“When you know it’s cheap, you use more. Your face is happier,” she said.
The affordable cream contains vitamin E and is meant to reveal “soft and glowing skin.”
She even put it to the test against a more expensive product to see which fared better on her skin.
The Reddit user did a side-by-side test on her face with the $4 Pond’s cream on one side and the Clarins Multi-Active Day Cream SPF 20, $59 on the other side.
According to the description, the Clarins buy can be used for all skin types.
It “targets fine lines, boosts radiance, and protects with broad-spectrum SPF 20 sunscreen.”
