Cameron Diaz Goes Makeup-Free in Double Denim Outfit During Rare Outing

Cameron Diaz is going au naturale!

On Sunday, Aug. 3, the actress, 52, was spotted out and about in New York City sans makeup. Diaz was all smiles during the rare outing, wearing a casual-chic, denim-on-denim outfit consisting of a light denim button-down top and dark-wash jeans.

To fit the casual vibe, the star wore her blonde hair pulled back and added a pair of clear-framed glasses. She finished off the look with a tan cross-body bag, carrying a travel beverage cup and what appears to be some fabric.

Last month, PEOPLE confirmed that Diaz was continuing her return to movies with a starring role in the upcoming Jake Szymanski-directed action-comedy Bad Day. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will begin shooting this fall in New York and New Jersey.

Diaz will star as as “a single mom fighting to keep one little promise to her daughter on the absolute worst day of her life,” per a release, with Laura Solon and Mark Moran executive producing and Beau Bauman producing for Good One Productions.

Bad Day will feature a script by Solon (Let It Snow, Office Christmas Party). And while it’s pitched as a comedy, the film will be based partly on the 1993 drama Falling Down, starring Michael Douglas and directed by the late Joel Schumacher, THR reports.

The film marks Diaz’s second screen project since she made her return to acting following a decade-long hiatus, during which she married Benji Madden and became a mother of two — to daughter Raddix, 5, and son Cardinal, whose birth the couple announced in March 2024.

The actress’ first movie role since her long-awaited return was opposite Jamie Foxx in the 2025 action-comedy Back in Action, which costarred Glenn Close.

Diaz is also set to reprise her iconic voice role as Princess Fiona in Shrek 5, currently slated for release on Dec. 23, 2026.

During a interview with Empire in December 2024, the actress revealed it was “hard to say” if she’d return for another movie after Back in Action.

“I don’t know how I view it. It’s hard to say,” Diaz said when asked if she was back to movies for good. “If I say it then it becomes this thing. I reserve the right to say no to doing a movie ever again, and I reserve the right to say yes if I decide to.”

She also joked, “No more romcoms, only momcoms.”

Diaz also recently made a return to Fashion Week after a 13-year break. In March, the actress stepped out for the Stella McCartney fashion show during Paris Fashion Week, marking her first Fashion Week appearance since 2012.

She looked red-hot in a silky midi dress with long sleeves and a high neckline, adding red square-toed shoes and a black handbag. To top everything off, she sported red lipstick to match her ensemble.

The star arrived in a white overcoat but removed it when taking her seat for the runway show. Her signature blonde hair was swept into an effortless updo.
