Trisha Yearwood’s Dottie’s Yard Foundation

In 2021, Yearwood established the Dottie’s Yard foundation in honor of her family’s beloved rescue dog, Dottie.

Dottie was rescued by Yearwood in 2004, and went on to help the family find more rescue pups to welcome into their family, including Emmy, as well as Yearwood’s late dogs Hank and Pete. Dottie died in 2016 at the age of 14, inspiring the creation of Dottie’s Yard, which raises money for animal shelters and rescue organizations across the U.S.

“Dottie’s Yard was created to honor one of the best dogs I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing,” Yearwood writes in a statement on the foundation’s website. “Now, Dottie’s legacy will live on and she will continue to help dogs and cats all over the country.”
